Konami has become the latest target of a large-scale website exploit. The company announced that it has logged over 35,000 unauthorized logins (out of nearly 4 million attempts) between the period of June 13th and July 7th, potentially exposing customers' personal information. "Measures have been taken to ensure that IDs and passwords involved in these unauthorized logins can no longer be used to log in, and affected customers have been notified by email," Konami says in an official statement regarding the break-ins [PDF]. "Konami has [also] strengthened its security and raised its monitoring level." "We request that those customers who use the same password for both their Konami ID and external services change to a new and different password," the statement adds. At the moment, the only Konami game to make use of the Konami ID service is Pro Evolution Soccer 2013.
