ARM says that the aim of the acquisition is to further its position at the forefront of the visual computing and graphics industries. In particular, the company will be looking to accelerate Geomerics' mobile and console game development capabilities. ARM was keen to stress that Geomerics will continue to operate as a separate trading entity, and that this acquisition will not affect any ongoing commercial relationships that Geomerics has with current clients.
