Newsbrief: eSports network Major League Gaming has announced the launch of its own "premium" video streaming hub, MLG.TV. The move is a clear attempt to capture the growing fervor for online video game spectatorship via streaming services such as Twitch, by expounding upon MLG's dedicated following of core players. The website recently completed a two-week pre-launch beta, over which it streamed 1.3PB (petabytes) of video data with a 95 percent fill rate in advertising -- a "strong validation" of what MLG's new streaming service offers customers, the organization said. "MLG is one of the fastest growing premium content producers on the web with over 600 percent growth in audience over the last three years," says MLG chief executive officer Sundance DiGiovanni. "We leveraged our experience as a top online broadcaster to create the ultimate environment for not only our own content, but other industry leaders as well." Though described as a premium service by the organization, an MLG representative confirmed for Gamasutra that there is no subscription or other fee required to use the site.
