When MARVEL's Avengers was first announced by Square Enix and MARVEL Entertainment — all the way back in January of 2017, and under the name "Project Avengers" — fans of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes were very excited to see what developer Crystal Dynamics could bring to the table.
It wasn't until E3 of 2019 that fans were finally able to get a proper reveal trailer for the game, and the response was surprisingly rather mixed; with some fans complaining that the game looked uninspired, and even complaining about the characters not looking anything like their Marvel Cinematic Universe counterparts.
To add insult to injury, as some people claimed, MARVEL's Avengers didn't even look like a current-gen game, and the little gameplay shown was not enough to meet fans' ridiculously high expectations; after the Avengers: Infinity War movie they can't be blamed for it, though.
As time has passed since the reveal trailer during last year's E3, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have shared a tonne of information about the upcoming title, and Avengers fans are now, once again, excited to see their favourite team of superheroes assemble in video game format.
Earlier this week, Square Enix revealed that new information about MARVEL's Avengers will finally be revealed this coming Wednesday the 24th of June; promising to release a brand-new trailer that will hopefully show off even more gameplay and not just cutscenes.
Ahead of the new trailer's release, Square Enix has shared today an intriguing screenshot for the game, that sees Thor — prince of Asgard, and God of Thunder himself — wearing a rather interesting outfit that suggests that after the events that take place in A-Day, he will not be doning his Asgardian uniform, and may be doing some sort of community service as a volunteer of sorts.
Whatever it is that Thor has been doing after the events of A-Day, it will definitely be interesting to see what the other members of the Avengers have been doing since the day the Earth's Mightiest Heroes were defeated, and broken as a team.
Take a look:
God of Thunder! Prince of Asgard! Volunteer?

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
MARVEL's Avengers will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on the 4th of September.
