Mass Effect 3 breaks 1.3M units sold, Binary Domain sells mere 20K

Newsbrief: In the wake of yesterday's U.S. retail sales data for March 2012, The NPD Group shed some light on the sales numbers for some of month's more notable titles. While games like Mass Effect 3 saw healthy, and somewhat expected sales, others, like Sega's Binary Domain, fared much worse. Joystiq reports that BioWare's Mass Effect 3 sold 1.3 million units, not including those sold online via Origin or PlayStation Network. Meanwhile, 3DS games like Kid Icarus: Uprising and Resident Evil: Revelations sold 140,000 and 122,000 units, respectively. Perhaps the biggest disappointment of the month was Sega's sci-fi shooter, Binary Domain. The game launched in late February, and despite being available for most of The NPD Group's tracking period, the title only sold 20,000 units.
