Microsoft buys Max & the Magic Marker developer

Newsbrief: Microsoft has purchased Press Play, the Copenhagen-based independent developer behind Max & the Magic Marker. The company revealed the acquisition during a pre-E3 discussion on Spike TV, though terms for the deal were not disclosed. Founded in 2006, Press Play employs eight workers. It's best known for releasing puzzle-platformer Max & the Magic Marker on WiiWare, PlayStation Network, Nintendo DS, iOS, PC, and Windows Phone 7. Press Play released its second game last July with Tentacles for Windows Phone and Facebook. Prior to the acquisition, Press Play had at least two games in development, a platformer for PlayStation 3, and a tank game for Windows Phone and Windows 8.
