Windows 10 features a revamped app store, and alongside that, there's a bigger push from Microsoft to get developers to put their apps (including games) into the Windows ecosystem.
According to Kevin Unangst, Microsoft's senior director for PC gaming, who spoke to PC Gamer at Gamescom, the company doesn't have plans to compete with Valve's Steam. But, he says, do not count out the possibility:
"Over time do we want more developers to come over to our store and offer it in addition to Steam? Absolutely. Is competition good for people? Absolutely."
