Although Nintendo chose to stay out of the fray at E3 last week, the publisher has come out swinging this week with a large-scale update to its 3DS handheld. The firmware update completely revamps the Mii Plaza, adding four new paid DLC StreetPass minigames alongside the previous Puzzle Swap and StreetPass Quest games. Each of these games costs £4.49 (the U.S. price isn't yet available, although you can expect each to cost between $6-7), while an Exchange Booth system allows you to swap tickets earnt in games for Mii items. The update also adds the functionality to save backup data for the majority of 3DS eShop download games from the main menu. The firmware update is currently available in Europe, with no word on when it will pop up in the U.S.
