Coffee Stain Publishing has brought Mojang's former production director, producer, and business developer Daniel Kaplan into the fold

Kaplan joined the Minecraft dev back in 2010, and was responsible for managing the studio's mobile and console development plans and forging new business opportunities.

Coffee Stain Publishing was introduced to the world earlier this year, and is the official publishing arm of Goat Simulator and Sanctum developer Coffee Stain Studios.

Unlike traditional publishers, Coffee Stain says it wants to act as more of a partner for budding game devs by "pushing projects towards success under balanced and fair conditions."

In his new role as Coffee Stain's business developer, Kaplan will be helping the company work on its roster of new games -- most of which are being kept under wraps for the time being.

"I've been a fan of Coffee Stain’s games for years now, and moving to the team behind one of the weirdest titles in the world is an exciting moment for me," said Kaplan.

"I’ve been drawn to making and thinking about games for as long as I can remember, and I’m really looking forward to work with a lot of different games at Coffee Stain."
