Mobile and social game company DeNA said this week that for the current fiscal year, it expects to generate more than twice the revenues and nearly triple the profits from last year. For the year ending March 31, 2011, the Tokyo-based company expects sales of ¥113 billion ($1.3 billion), up from ¥48.1 billion ($588 million) last year. The company also forecast full-year profits of ¥30.7 billion ($375 million), up from ¥11.4 billion ($139 million) a year prior. For the third fiscal quarter ended in December, DeNA reported sales of ¥29.5 billion ($360 million), up 153 percent year-on-year, and profits of ¥8.2 billion ($100.3 million), up 173 percent. The company has seen rapid growth thanks to its Japanese social gaming platform Mobage-town, one of the largest in the territory, and last year bought mobile game company Ngmoco for $400 million. DeNA also said this week that the integration with San Francisco-based Ngmoco is now complete, and the entity plans on launching the global Mobage smartphone platform on Google's Android OS in the coming months, with manufacturer bundling deals including major firms like Samsung. As of last month, DeNA said it has 309 partner developers and 764 game titles. CEO Tomoko Namba said in a statement, "We are very pleased with a remarkable quarter. We are looking forward to announcing an exceptional year in sales for DeNA, thanks to our diverse catalog and market expanding strategies. We are also razor-focused on delivering the Mobage smartphone platform this spring."
