Mochi Media Releases In-Game Achievements API

San Francisco-based Flash game ad network and payments platform Mochi Media has released a customizable achievements API, the company announced this week. The Mochi Achievements API has a built-in developer-determined points system (with progress bar), customizable toaster (notification pop-up) size and placements, and a customizable UI that does not carry any Mochi branding. "This new tool is a direct result of the community giving us product feedback- you wanted it, we thought it made sense, so we made it," said Mochi Media product marketing manager Colin Cupp in a blog post. The Mochi Achievements API is included in the latest version of the main Mochi API, and is accessible from the developer dashboard. Founded in 2005, Mochi Media was acquired by Chinese online games company Shanda last year for a reported $60 million in cash and $20 million in equity. The company claims over 140 million monthly active users and 15,000 games on nearly 40,000 publisher websites.
