Newsbrief: The Social Gaming Network, the mobile game developer founded by MySpace co-founder's Chris DeWolfe, has acquired social games company Mob Science. The deal brings the entirety of Mob Science's game portfolio over to SGN, and adds the studio's 50 million downloads to SGN's own 300 million game installations to date. The Mob Science team will stay at their Carlsbad, CA offices as a new SGN studio. Mob Science hit the headlines last year after raising $1 million in a round of funding. The studio was originally one of the early Zynga Platform Partners.
