Personally, I think cargo pockets are amazing and are perfect for all the EDC (everyday carry) gear we like to tote around. You know, stuff like power banks and cables. But I'm told that not everyone has -- or even wants -- cargo pockets on every pair of pants.

Weird.

Good thing there are thin and light power banks that are designed for people who aren't kitted out with cargo pockets. And they don't need to compromise on power or ports either.

If you want power bank that packs a punch, but don't want to have to join the cult of the cargo pocket, this Voltme Hypercore 10K Sling is the power bank for you.

This is a 10,000mAh/38.5Wh power bank that has three outputs. The capacity is enough to charge a modern smartphone about twice over (give or take, depending on battery capacity) so it's perfect for multi-day trips or those really long days.

There's a built-in USB-C cable, a USB-C port, and a USB-A port. The two USB-C ports can handle up to 20W output and 18W input for charging the pack, and the USB-A port is good up to 22.5W.

The built-in USB-C cable tucks into the base of the unit and doubles as a handy carrying loop, hence the Sling part of the name. And if, like me, you were worried this could be a weak spot, my extensive testing of it -- by swinging the power bank around by the cable -- suggests that you have nothing at all to worry about.

On the front of the unit are four tiny LEDs that show battery capacity – simple yet effective. The Hypercore 10K Sling has a nice design, too. The rounded corners are a nice touch, because pointy corners can make their way through pockets and fabric.

I like the rounded corners, they're much gentler on skin and fabric.

Another nice touch for traveling or office use is that the power bank features pass-through charging, where you can connect the power bank to a charger, and attach up to two devices to the power bank and get them charged up at the same time. I find this "hub" feature super handy.

's buying advice

The Voltme Hypercore 10K Sling is a solid power bank. Small, lightweight, and with rounded corners, yet has a decent capacity and three outputs. And, at least for me, the final surprise was realizing that this power bank retails for $22. That's a great price for such a decent power bank.
