New Jagex U.S. studio aims to bring AAA racing to Facebook

Newsbrief: UK-based RuneScape developer Jagex today revealed a new Californian studio, focused on bringing AAA-styled racing games to social media platforms. The new studio has been formed by a group of former Midnight Club developers, with Arash Amini taking up a producer role on the group's first Facebook title Carnage Racing. The game, due for release in November, aims to combine AAA visuals with social gameplay mechanics. The company's move into the U.S. follows investments from North American venture partners last year, including the securing of investment from its new majority stake owner in the U.S., Insight Ventures.
