New record set as Steam hits 12 million concurrent users

Just under six months after Valve saw Steam surpass 10 million concurrent users, the platform has now set a new record

At around 7pm on January 3, the number of concurrent users surpassed 12 million, with exactly 12,332,504 players signing in to sample the likes of DotA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, GTA V, Fallout 4, and Football Manager 2016

According to a thread on NeoGAF, the most played game at peak time was DotA 2, which had 940,373 concurrent players.

Counter-Strike was the second most played, with 643,402 concurrent players, while Fallout 4 was the third with 116,599.
