New York Academy of Sciences To Examine The Anthropology Of Virtual Worlds

The New York Academy of Sciences announced that its Science and the City Program will host a gaming-focused event titled, "The Anthropology of Online Worlds," which will examine how humanity shapes virtual worlds. The event, to be held November 9, 2011 in New York, will feature anthropologist Thomas Malaby of the University of Wisconsin and online game designer Lee Guzofski of G2G Enterprises as they examine relationships, economies, societies, and cultures as they exist in virtual space. The event is open to the public and interested parties can register for the event at the New York Academy of Sciences official website.
