Nintendo Addresses 3DS Crash Reports

Nintendo has confirmed that a bug could crash some 3DS systems, causing an error screen or entirely dark screen, and says new consumers should download the new system update as soon as possible to help address any potential issues. "If anyone is experiencing any problems with their Nintendo 3DS console, we recommend that in the first instance they download and install the latest system update, now available online," said Nintendo in a statement to Eurogamer. "If the problems still persist we recommend they contact their local Nintendo Customer Service center to investigate the problem further." The device just launched in the UK on March 25 and in the U.S. on the 27. At the flagship American launch at New York City's Nintendo World Store, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime was on hand to greet fans, many of whom told Gamasutra that they felt it was an uncommon degree of attention from the company to the needs of the hardcore early adopter.
