Nintendo DS Leads Japanese Hardware, PSP Go Sales Triple

Nearly all platforms saw improved sales on the Japanese hardware sales charts this week, with the Nintendo DS experiencing the largest improvement overall, reports tracking firm Media Create. For the week ended October 31, the combined versions of the Nintendo DS line sold 59,126 units, an approximate 25,000 unit increase from last week. The DSi LL saw the most substantial sales growth, more than doubling its units sold from last week. The PSP took second place on the overall hardware charts, selling 41,905 units, 38,874 of which were the standard PSP hardware. Thanks to a recent price drop, the PSP Go saw a sales boost and sold 3,031 units, more than triple its sales from the previous week. When compared to other platforms, the PSP Go reached number seven on the individual hardware versions chart. All other platforms experienced slight sales boosts this week, except for the DS Lite, which saw a very slight drop from last week. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended October 31, 2010. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
