Newsbrief: The Japan Times reported today that Nintendo is continuing its overtures to mobile developers, following on their web development kit presentation at this year's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. At the conference, Nintendo unveiled its Web Framework, a new development environment built on WebKit technologies, designed to support app development on the Wii U. The Nintendo Web Framework accommodates HTML5, JavaScript and CSS and can (most notably) be utilized by the Wii U GamePad controller. Nintendo hopes to appeal to mobile developers in order to help prop up its struggling console after reporting operating losses at the close of the previous fiscal year.
