Newsbrief: The Nintendo Switch has sold almost 8 million units worldwide since launching earlier this year.

According to the latest figures from Nintendo, Switch sales totaled 7.63 million units as of September 30, 2017, but it's likely even more have flown off shelves in the month since.

Nintendo revealed the console had sold 4.7 million units back in June, meaning the hybrid handheld has managed another 3 million sales in just three months.

More notably, it also means the Switch has shifted more units in eight months than the Wii U managed in half of its entire lifecycle.
