Industry veteran (and former Gamasutra editor) Mike Rose has cut the ribbon on his new game publishing label, No More Robots.
The new operation aims to take a data-driven approach to games publishing without losing the human element of the business. Primarily, the label aims to elevate unique games through the use of strong support data and by maintaining a focus on community engagement through Twitch and Discord integration.
“Founding my own video game label is absolutely a dream come true,” said Rose in a press release. “I’ve helped numerous developer sell hundreds of thousands of games, and now I’m ready to really show what I’m capable of.”
At this stage, Rose and No More Robots have been backed by two notable investors. Jas Purewal, noted game lawyer and business advisor, has signed on as an initial investor in addition to former Gamasutra EIC and current UBM EVP Simon Carless. Carless is also set to act as an advisor for No More Robots.
Descenders, a procedurally generated extreme biking game from the creators of Action Henk, is set to be the publisher's first major release.
