Newsbrief: With numerous Japanese fighting games taking the free-to-play route as-of-late, it's not a huge surprise to discover that Namco Bandai is taking its popular Soulcalibur series free-to-play as well. Soulcalibur: Lost Swords, releasing for PlayStation 3 later this year, will be monetized through the sale of virtual items, according to Famitsu Magazine, and as translated by Siliconera. This follows both the Tekken and Dead or Alive franchises going free-to-play. Namco Bandai is currently adopting the free-to-play model in a big way, with the Ace Combat series the latest in the publisher's lineup to take the free-to-play route.
