Obituary: Ken Melville, designer of Sewer Shark, has passed away

Industry veteran Ken Melville, best known for co-founding Digital Pictures and designing Sega CD cult classic Sewer Shark, has passed away suddenly at the age of 65. The news comes courtesy of a statement from Cinemaware, the developer who was working with Melville on a Kickstarted remake of Wings called Wings: Remastered Edition. In his long career Melville worked with Cinemaware, Cavedog and other studios on many well-loved games, including It Came From The Desert, Total Annihilation: Kingdoms and Star Wars: Empire At War. Melville also co-founded Digital Pictures, the FMV-focused developer responsible for games like Night Trap and Sewer Shark. IGN reports that Melville was scheduled for heart surgery last week.
