Skye Boyes, founder and CEO of independent game developer, XGen Studios, passed away peacefully on October 12, the studio has revealed.

A passionate Flash programmer from a young age, Skye founded XGen in 2003 and would go on to see the studio deliver games including Defend Your Castle and PlayStation 4 launch title, Super Motherload.

When he wasn't busy with the day-to-day running of XGen, Skye managed to find time to work on other projects, joining BioWare briefly in 2006 to help the studio successfully deliver Mass Effect.
