Newsbrief: Oculus VR announced today that it has hired Atman Binstock, a game industry veteran who most recently served as a lead engineer on Valve's VR team, to serve as its new chief architect. Atman worked on a number of VR projects while at Valve, including solving the problem of "simulator sickness" brought on by VR headsets, assisting developers like Jonathan Blow in adapting their games to accept virtual reality input, and creating the 'VR Room' demo that was showcased during the inaugural Steam Dev Days event in January. Atman will be leading Oculus' new Seattle-based R&D team, which the company is in the process of building out.
