Swedish developer-publisher Paradox Interactive has brought in former King Malmo general manager, Kim Nordstrom, to lead its mobile charge.
Nordstrom will oversee the Stellaris developer's various innovation and mobile initiatives, having racked up 15 years of experience at industry heavyweights such as King and Sony Computer Entertainment America.
He'll officially join the studio in January, when he'll begin to outline plans for the future and assume responsibility for the company's current mobile initiatives.
Paradox says it has already opened discussions with external studios to explore the possibility of creating mobile versions of its hit franchises.
"I'm very excited to be part of the innovation initiatives preparing the company for the future, and to lead the investments needed to enter the mobile market," said Nordstrom. "Paradox has a great portfolio and a loyal fan base, and that's a great start to successfully enter the mobile market."
Paradox has had a string of hits over the past couple of years, with Cities: Skylines, Stellaris, and Hearts of Iron IV all breaking sales records.
Earlier this year, studio chief Fredrik Wester revealed Paradox plans to go public so it can spread ownership and access the direct market with a view to making more acquisitions.
