Paramount is doubling down on its video game-licensed entertainment properties. The media conglomerate (which was known as ViacomCBS until todayrenewed the Halo television show before its debut, and the Sonic the Hedgehog films are getting a third entry and Knuckles-themed spinoff show.

Both shows announced by Paramount will debut on streaming service Paramount Plus.

That's good news for license-holders Microsoft and Sega, who both stand to gain from the success of new movies and shows for their respective franchises. But it's a two-way street for Paramount and these game publishers, as we noted earlier today with the news that another BioShock movie is in the works.

Though if any video game developers are chomping at the bit to get their games onto Paramount Plus, we definitely advise that you examine the platform's audience closely. Apparently a film adaptation of Clifford the Big Red Dog drove more new subscribers to the platform than the Star Trek shows that launched with it.
