POKEMON: 16 Pokemon Have Been Banned For Series 6 Of The Video Game Championships

The Pokemon Video Game Championships (VGC) is a competitive event held through the most recent Pokemon titles between players. Much like the world of Pokemon, the championships see trainers taking the team of Pokemon that they have created and using them to compete to be the very best and win prizes such as money and even scholarships!

Beginning with series 1, which started late last year, the game used in the competition was Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon on the Nintendo 3DS. However, at the beginning of January, the game switched to Pokémon Sword and Shield on the Nintendo Switch.

Since the switch in both game and console, the competition is getting ready to start series six at the beginning of next month. However, the new series marks a whole new list of 16 banned Pokemon form the competition. The list includes Rillaboom, Togekiss, Cinderace, Incineroar, Indeedee (both male and female variants), Tyranitar, Whimsicott, Torkoal, Dragapult, Venusaur, Porygon2, Mimikyu, Gyarados, Hippowdon, Excadrill, Magnezone.
