Newsbrief: Poland's National Centre for Research and Development had pledged to donate 116 million PLN ($27.3 million) to the county's video game industry.
As reported by Radio Poland, the cash will be used to support 38 new projects, with a huge lump sum heading in the direction of The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red.
"We want to modernize the Polish economy […] especially in the areas where our intellectual and creative potential is strongest,” said Poland's science minister, Jarosław Gowin.
CD Projekt's long-running RPG franchise is one of the Polish game scene's most recognizable exports. The latest entry, The Witcher 3, has sold roughly 10 million copies since launching to critical acclaim back in May 2015.
