CD Projekt Red has filed a trademark for a standalone version of Gwent, the minigame from their 2015 hit The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.
Nerdleaks spotted the trademark filing, which was specifically filed as a class 9 and class 41 trademark in the EU trademark office, which are designated for video game and software trademarks.
This implies that the standalone version of Gwent will be a digital collectible card game, and not a physical tabletop game.
The trademark filings included two logos, one of which can be seen below.
CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwinski told Eurogamer in May that they would be showcasing "a new type of video game format previously unexplored by the studio" at E3, which may refer to a standalone Gwent card game.
