PS PLUS: Free PS5 And PS4 Games For August 2025 Announced

Sony has announced the next batch of free games for PlayStation Plus members. August's lineup includes three very diverse games, so there's a bit of something for everyone.

The highlight of August's 2025 lineup is Lies of P, the macabre Soulslike from developers Neowiz and Round8 Studio. The dark fantasy action game, inspired by The Adventures of Pinocchio, is a reimagining of Carlo Collodi's iconic tale.

In search of the mysterious Mr. Geppetto, Pinnochio heads to Krat, a Belle Époque-inspired city whose humanity has been lost to madness and killer puppets.

"Pinocchio must battle for survival using a range of weapons and swappable Legion Arms with special abilities. He will also encounter non-hostile characters, but you will have to help him lie to fulfill his dream of becoming human," the game's description teases.

Lies of P's arrival on PS Plus comes just a few short weeks after the release of its prequel expansion, Lies of P: Overture, which takes players back in time to explore the history of Krat. Lies of P will be free and playable on both PS5 and PS4.

Also arriving next month is DayZ. In this hardcore survival game, players must survive a post-apocalyptic world rampant with frenzied infected. It's not just infected players must be wary of, but other survivors as well. Die and you'll have to start over completely from scratch without any of the items or gear you previously scavenged.

The third and final game for PS Plus in August is My Hero One's Justice 2, the 3D arena fighter based on the popular anime series My Hero Academia. Developed and published by Bandai Namco, this sequel title recreates epic battles from the anime with an impressive roster of characters to play as.

Similar to Lies of P, the timing of My Hero One's Justice 2 addition to PS Plus is likely to help drum up hype for the franchise's next release, My Hero Academia: All's Justice. The recently announced title is an adaptation of the anime's final story arc, depicting the FInal War between Heroes and Villains in the form of spectacular 3v3 3D arena battles. My Hero Academia: All's Justice doesn't have a release date yet, but is coming soon.

All three of these games will be playable for PlayStation Plus members beginning Tuesday, August 5th. As a reminder, you have until August 4th to download July's free PS Plus titles: Diablo IVThe King of Fighters XV, and Jusant
