PSP Leads Japanese Charts, Wii Jumps To Number Two

The PSP took the top spot on the Japanese hardware sales charts this week, while the Nintendo Wii saw a significant sales boost, reports tracking firm Media Create. For the week ended November 14, the combined versions of the PSP sold 43,055 units, up roughly 6,000 units from last week. The Nintendo Wii more than tripled its sales, selling approximately 28,000 more units than the previous week. This sales boost correlates with the release of the 25th anniversary Wii bundle on November 11. The Nintendo DS line, which led the combined platforms chart last week, fell to number three as PSP and Wii sales increased. With the exception of the PSP and Wii, all other platforms experienced a slight sales decline this week. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended November 7, 2010. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
