Both the Puyo Puyo and Tetris series of puzzle games have been around for quite a long time now, and we have seen countless games being released. With the popularity that both series have had for decades, not to mention its similarities, it was only a matter of time until we saw them crossing over.
Puyo Puyo Tetris was released in 2014, and it gave players an experience that got the best out of both series, and Sega has just announced that they are teaming up with The Tetris Company to release Puyo Puyo Tetris 2; the best news is that it will be releasing this December.
According to the developers, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 will release on Tuesday the 8th of December for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. A PlayStation 5 version is also being developed, although it is expected to launch at a yet-to-be-determined date this Holiday; with a Steam version releasing shortly after.
With the announement, Sega also released a trailer that shows off some of the new features that will be included in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, and that also lets players know that pre-orders are currently open via the Sega's official website; as of this writing, however, pre-order links are still not working.
