Newsbrief: Riot Games has launched an Engineering Techblog that goes in-depth into the development of League of Legends with posts from its game developers.

"Our goal is to share with you, the engineering community, our journey developing technology while we learn from your questions and comments," writes Scott Gelb, Riot VP of technology. "Riot engineers from teams around the world look forward to sharing stories..."

Blog posts already up on the site include a technical look at League of Legends' chat service protocol, and a very in-depth article on the compression used for the game's champions' skeletal data.
