In the latest postings over the last seven days, Gamasutra's jobs board plays host to roles across the world and in every major discipline, including opportunities at Sony, Irrational, Firaxis, and more. Each position posted by employers will appear on the main Gamasutra job board, and appear in the site's daily and weekly newsletters, reaching our readers directly. It will also be cross-posted for free across its network of submarket sites, which includes content sites focused on online worlds, cellphone games, 'serious games', independent games and more. Some of the notable jobs posted this week include: - Sony Computer Entertainment America: Senior Game Console Systems Engineer: "Be a part of the most exciting and innovating computer entertainment in North America. Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) markets the PlayStation family of products and develops, publishes, markets, and distributes software for the PS one console, the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment systems and the PlayStation Portable (PSP)." - Monolith Productions: Senior Software Engineer, Network: "As a senior engineer for networking you will work closely with the lead engineer and the rest of your peers to develop state-of-the-art networking technology for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Your domain will cover the networking components of the engine and your responsibilities will include both optimizations of current-gen systems and design and implementation of pivotal new technology." - Irrational Games: Programmer: "Irrational Games is looking for programmers at all experience levels to join our tech and gameplay teams. Whether you are a grizzled veteran of the video game wars or have only one game under your belt, if you think you have what it takes, we want to hear from you." - Toys for Bob / Activision: Creative Audio Lead: "We’re owned by Activision. We’ve been together for 20 years, made a bunch of games, many of which are actually fun. Our office and work style are pretty damn awesome. We aren’t on fire. We advocate the relocation of polar bear tribes to Antarctica. We have the best design tools around. It would be nice to one day do another Star Control title but what’s really most important is that we can keep working on fun games for fun people and not turn into a bunch of business jerks. That passion burns deep inside our bellies, like a flaming golden hawk." - Firaxis Games: Multiplayer Programmer: "Coming off the release of the award winning Sid Meier’s Civilization V, Firaxis Games is continuing to make the world’s best strategy games under the creative direction of legendary designer Sid Meier. We have several titles currently in development and are looking for top talent to help us create great games for the PC, consoles and social gaming platforms. We’re located in Maryland’s spectacular countryside between Washington, DC and New York City."
