Back in August Rovio announced that up to 260 jobs were on the line as the mobile developer pushed ahead with restructuring efforts designed to ensure the company could achieve its "global ambitions."

Now, after months of negotiations, the Angry Birds creator has confirmed the cuts, laying off 213 staff members in total.

As previously reported, those working on The Angry Birds Movie were the only employees protected from the drop.

"While we have gathered good momentum this year, especially with the launch of Angry Birds 2, fundamental changes are needed to ensure Rovio succeeds in its global ambitions," said Rovio CEO Pekka Rantala earlier this year.

"This is personally a difficult decision. However, it is certain that a leaner and more agile Rovio is absolutely necessary to move forward and take the company to new successes in the future."
