Recently, the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase has revealed some exciting titles, both new and old, for the Nintendo Switch and even some other consoles. From Shin Megami Tensei to Atelier Ryza, sequels have been the talk for the longest time. However, XSEED Games and Edelweiss have announced something new and unique.
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is a brand new side scroller and platformer about a young girl who fights of intimidating demons with nothing more than her wits and her gardening supplies. One of the most fun things about the game's gameplay mechanics is that there is even a gardening element added to the game!
Not only will the gardening aid in your progress, but it also gives the player some downtime between action pieces. Besides the standard edition, the "Divine Edition" will feature things such as a new case, artbook, soundtrack, and also an "omamori" charm for good luck as players farm and battle.
With the latest trailer showing off the mechanics of the game, it'll be hard for fans of this genre to say no. Make sure to check out the trailer below, and we would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
Players take on the role of Sakuna, a proud yet lonely harvest goddess who is banished to a dangerous island with a group of outcast humans. Sakuna tames the island by defeating demons using farm tools as weapons while chaining attacks with her “celestial scarf,” a magical item that allows her to grapple distant enemies and platforms.
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin will release on Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in North America on November 10th and in Japan on the 12th, then Europe and Australia on November 20th!
