Sega Distributing EA Titles In Japan

Sega has signed a deal with Electronic Arts to bring its titles to the Japanese gaming market, according to media reports. In a statement received by Andriasang, EA explained that it has formed a partnership with Sega in the hope of expanding its reach to Japan through the publisher's key distribution channels. Starting later this month, Sega will act as a distributor for EA's Shadows of the Damned, which is set to be released in Japan on September 22. The game was released in the U.S. and Europe last month. The company said that, by next month, it will be looking to distribute all of EA's games -- both old and upcoming titles -- to the Japanese market. Last month, Sega president Mike Hayes told Gamasutra that the company is focusing on a new branding strategy, that sees the Sega brand shifted to the background.
