Organizers of the 2011 SIGGRAPH conference have opened registration for the upcoming Vancouver event, revealing a lineup of featured panels and exhibitions, including a selection of serious and social games-focused Game Papers discussions. The Game Papers portion of SIGGRAPH aims to "explore key issues in video games, inform and substantively advance our current state of knowledge and understanding, and foster new areas for investigation that will drive the next generation of design and player experience." Topics covered in Game Papers include serious games, social network games, and the practice of game and game culture preservation, among several other subjects. SIGGRAPH 2011 will also feature an art gallery, a job fair, and "The Sandbox," an event allowing student and professional game developers to "test drive current game-development technologies, explore game design, and play the games that are defining the next generation of digital interactivity." SIGGRAPH 2011 will be held from August 7th through 11th in Vancouver, British Columbia. Registration information is available here.
