Newsbrief: Sony has for the first time offered a sales projection for its upcoming PlayStation 4, stating that it hopes to sell around 5 million hardware units before March 2014. As part of Sony's Tokyo Game Show keynote, and as reported by the Wall Street Journal, Sony president Andrew House revealed the projected figure, a potentially stronger debut than its predecessor the PlayStation 3 (which sold 3.55 million units in a similar launch time-frame.) The PlayStation App was also revealed during the keynote, an iOS and Android app that can connect to the PS4, and allow players to interact with specific games on the console.
