SPIDER-MAN 2 Will Be A Lot Darker Than SPIDER-MAN As Marvel Games VP Compares It To THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

We knew Spider-Man 2 was coming after Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but that first trailer still blew us away.

As well as highlighting some impressive visuals, it confirmed that Kraven the Hunter will be one of the lead villains and revealed a first look at Tony Todd's take on Venom.

Now, Marvel Games Vice President and Creative Director Bill Rosemann has teased a much darker game than its predecessors. "If the first Spider-Man game was Star Wars, Spider-Man 2 is kind of our Empire [Strikes Back]," he teased, sharing an undeniably intriguing comparison.

It certainly makes sense for Spider-Man 2 to head down a darker route, especially with Venom taking aim at Peter Parker and Miles Morales.

Throw in Norman Osborn's apparent attempts to save his son, and we'd be shocked if the Green Goblin doesn't make his presence felt at some point too.

Rosemann also offered a quick update on Insomniac's Wolverine game, promising that news is on the way.

"We will eventually reveal when Wolverine is aimed to launch," he noted. "For more, go back and study those trailers, they are packed with details and Easter eggs."

Spider-Man 2 is set to be released in 2023, though the wait for Wolverine will likely be a tad longer.
