Newsbrief: Dutch game company Spil Games has acquired casual gaming website Mousebreaker for an undisclosed fee, gaining access to the company's 1.5 million players.

Spil purchased Mousebreaker, mostly known for its extensive range of web-based sport and soccer games, from New York-based magazine publisher, Time Inc.

The acquisition is part of Spil’s "long term audience and content strategy,” and, if all goes to plan, will boost the company’s presence in "those gaming sectors that generate some of the highest revenues in the business."

Industry veteran and Atari Inc co-founder, Nolan Bushnell, recently signed a deal with Spil that will see both parties work together to create a number of mobile titles.
