SPLINTER CELL: DEATHWATCH Animated Series Teaser Trailer Coming Thursday

It's been a while since we've heard about Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Deathwatch, but an update is coming soon in the form of a teaser trailer. Ubisoft shared a new poster for the upcoming animated series, which is based on the publisher's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell video game series, while confirming the trailer will be shared at Anime NYC on Thursday, August 21st.

Produced by Ubisoft Film & Television and animated by Sun Creature and Fost, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Deathwatch is expected to premiere on Netflix later this year. Directed by Guillaume Dousse and Felicien Colmet-Daage, and written by Derek Kolstad (John Wick), Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Deathwatch is an adaptation of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, the award-winning espionage video game series created by Ubisoft. Sam Fisher will be voiced by Liev Schreiber (The Perfect Couple).

"Splinter Cell follows Fisher, a black ops agent working for a US government division called the Fourth Echelon," Netflix described during the first announcement, teased back in 2024. "In this first look at the upcoming series, a pair of goggles sinks in water and flowers are placed on the coffin of a man named Douglas Shetland. The words “Beloved Father” are inscribed on the wooden casket, and Fisher narrates, “Once you get used to the shadows, you see bad people for who they really are. And they’ll never see you coming for them.”

The first Splinter Cell game was released back in 2002, and since then, there have been six mainline games along with some spin-offs and mobile adaptations. The last released entry was Splinter Cell: Blacklist in 2013.

Although the series has been quiet for the past decade, Ubisoft did announce a full remake of the original Splinter Cell is in development. This announcement was made back in 2021, though, and we still haven't had an update.
