STAR WARS: More Details Revealed On Open-World Game From DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN Developers

Earlier today, we told you about rumblings that Quantic Dream, the team behind Detroit: Become Human, are in the midst of developing a new Star Wars game.

Now, Kotaku is reporting that they've heard something similar from an independent source with knowledge of the studio's plans.

YouTuber Gautoz was the first to share the news, revealing that the developers had reached a deal with Disney to develop a new Star Wars game after its three-year deal with Sony reached its end.

Rumour has it that the project has been in development for around 18 months, and the site notes that "it won’t be the conventional type of quick-time-event-driven game we’ve come to expect from the French studio. Instead, they said, the game will have more traditional action gameplay, and possibly even open world and multiplayer elements."

We've heard a lot about new Star Wars games being on the way recently, with Ubisoft developing an open-world game and Knights of the Old Republic receiving the remake treatment.

EA's exclusive deal with Disney ends in 2023, and it seems Lucasfilm Games has wasted no time in enlisting other teams to start making games ready for when that concludes (meaning this one is probably set for a 2024 debut).

As for Quantic Dream, the Montreal studio has been acquiring a lot of talent used to working on big budget games, including those from Ubisoft, Eidos Montreal, and WB Games Montreal.

Needless to say, we'll keep you guys updated as we learn more about this one.
