Newsbrief: Following the news that Tecmo Koei is developing a free-to-play title in its Dead or Alive fighting series, Namco Bandai has now revealed that Tekken Revolution will be the first free-to-play fighting game on console. Although the company has not yet divulged any concrete details about the game's free-to-play elements, the game is seemingly an E3 surprise, as it will release this week -- June 11 in the U.S., and June 12 everywhere else. The game comes with eight characters, suggesting that you'll need to pay to unlock further characters. Notably, this will be the first Tekken game to introduce character leveling, with players able to increase the strength, endurance and vigor stats of their characters. The game will be released on PlayStation 3 exclusively -- a tweet from Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada suggests that it was also planned for Xbox 360, but the free-to-play elements turned out to be a sticking point.
