Newsbrief: The 3DS' younger, flatter cousin, the Nintendo 2DS, has had its price slashed for the second time in a year.

Starting on May 20, the 2DS will retail for $79.99, which is $20 less than its current recommended retail price of $99.99.

Despite lowering the price, Nintendo will still be offering a free digital copy of Mario Kart 7 with all 2DS purchases.

The 2DS' last price drop came in August 2015, when Nintendo expressed a desire to turn the handheld into an "attractive introductory option for first time gamers."
