The UK's porn filter is blocking the latest League of Legends update

Some League of Legends players in the UK are having trouble downloading the latest update for the game, thanks to child internet safety measures taken by the British government. The UK government has put a firewall in place with new internet connections, that attempts to block porn by default and protect children searching the web. However, as reported by The Guardian, the latest update for LoL contains files with the names VarusExpirationTimer.luaobj and XerathMageChainsExtended.luaobj -- note the "sex" string that can be spotted in both file names. As a result, these files are not being downloading properly, and the game is throwing up "file not found" errors to those affected. It would appear that the only course of action at this point is to contact your ISP and ask for them to turn the filter off, before attempting to download the update again. Fortunately the issue is not affecting the majority of LoL players in the UK, since the filter is only activated for new internet accounts connected in the last month.
