The Witcher 2 Producer Tomek Gop Leaves CD Projekt

CD Projekt Red Studio's senior producer Tomek Gop has left the company and, reportedly, the entire games industry. According to Gop's LinkedIn profile, he left the studio behind The Witcher games earlier this month. He held a number of different positions at the company during a five year stint, including senior producer on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Speaking to news blog VG247, CD Projekt's PR manager Lukasz Kukawski noted that, as far as he was aware, Gop has left the industry entirely. Details surrounding Gop's departure have not yet been revealed. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was very well received by critics, earning the game a score of 88 out of 100 at Metacritic.com. It went on to surpass 400,000 sales in its first week, and have an Xbox 360 version announced. In a Gamasutra feature last month, Gop explained that the most important part of developing a game is delivering a quality overall experience for the player.
