CD Projekt RED has announced that the sales for Steam version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have exceeded $50 million. That’s for the period between October 1st, 2018, and today. Do note that The Witcher 3 came out in 2015 on the PC.
The accumulated revenue from sales of The Witcher 3 on @Steam platform for the period of time between October 1st 2018 and today has exceeded 50M USD. As a result, we are now getting 80% on any subsequent sales of TW3 on Steam.

In short, and after three years, the game was able to bring an additional of $50 million. That’s a lot of money and shows the strong legs of this particular title. Also note that $50 million is the accumulated revenue from the game’s sales on Steam. Accumulated earnings is the sum of a company’s profits, after dividend payments, since the company’s inception.
As a result, CD Projekt RED is now getting 80% on any subsequent sales of The Witcher 3 on Steam.
While Geralt’s story has ended with The Witcher 3, CD Projekt RED wants to explore its word via spin offs. Or at least that’s its plan. However, don’t expect a new triple-A The Witcher game anytime soon. After all, the team is busy right now with Cyberpunk 2077.
