ModdedGames has released a really interesting mod for the second Mafia game. As its title suggests, the Free Ride 2.2 mod makes free roam possible in Mafia 2 without even starting the campaign story mode.
With this mod, players can change the time of day, save their progress, and explore Empire Bay. All safehouses will be immediately unlocked and both Joe and Henry can follow you.
Those interested can download Mafia 2 Free Ride 2.2 mod from here, and here is how you can install this mod:
- Drag the folder called “cnt_free_ride_game” found in the mod’s .zip file to “C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Mafia II/pc/dlcs“.
- If you’re running a non-Steam version, drag it to your “/Mafia II/pc/dlcs folder, wherever it may be.
- Add the dlc: “cnt_free_ride_game” to the folder
- Play
